After 6 months of checking craigs list almost daily, I found the exact settee I wanted.
Requirements....
-around 5 ft long.... Big enough to seat 3 people, but small enough to fit the space
- wood trim all the way around
- no fabric on the arms
- camelback design
- and most importantly, really, really cheap
I knew that I wanted to cover it in some funky fabric, so it didn't matter whAt it looked like, as long as the frame was good. This is why I had to get it so cheap To feel ok about spending the money on fabric and upholstery cost. There was no point to buy a new one, since I still would have wAnted different fabric.
I was so excited when I got it (for $120), but now it's been 2 months and I still haven't picked a fabric. Ahhh! What is my problem! I feel as though this house decorating stuff has turned me into a slow, indecisive person, where I used to be so quick. It's killing me.
BUT it just feels so permanent. And the settee needs to go with chairs that have yet to be found. And the ottoman. And the couch. And curtains if I ever sew them! I'm still enjoying the process, but I just need to make some deacons and see at least a little progress before I go crazy.
Any thoughts?
