this is just a side note....to anyone that happens to blog, uses a mac and is as photo illiterate as I am.
For the longest time, I have tried to figure out an easy way to make little photo collages that would work on blogger. (see last post) It seemed like the easiest way was in Photoshop...which I don't have. The next option was doing them through photobucket or some other photo storage system. Which would be fine, except it is a pain to get my pictures there from iphoto (where i keep all my pics), build the collage, and then get it to my blog. If I can't put up a post in less than 10 minutes, it's not gonna happen.
My genius solution for doing it in iphoto....
There is no collage program in iphoto. BUT there is a card maker. Click on card at the bottom of iphoto or hit the + and select card for the older version. Pick any card layout you want....1 to 8 pictures, then drag your pictures into the project.
From here was the tricky part....getting the card out of iphoto. If you want to print it, you can buy it through iphoto, but I couldn't find a way to save it and use it anywhere else.
Soooo, I took a screen shot -command shift 4 -cropping just the card part. It saves to your desktop and from there, you can just upload it like any photo. The pictures aren't completely crisp....but it's so so fast. And that is more important to me.
it may mean you see a lot of these coming up....
these pics are from the candy store "smeeks" in Phoenix. It's on 20th and Camelback and worth the visit it you live close. They have all of these old toys and penny candy. And my boys did the photo booth with my dad and the pictures are hilarious.
