 {after paint balling in May}

Craig left us and went to Utah the last 4 days for work and for fun. We missed him. He doesn't leave us often and it was a little surprising for me to realize how everything kinda goes to pot without him. Even though he is the most laid back person, he's the one that keeps us on schedule with the day to day stuff.....dinner, bedtime, teethbrushing, etc.

The first night he was gone, we were in the pool swimming when I realized it's was 9pm, the boys hadn't had dinner and it was an hour past their bedtime. I fed them peanut butter and nutella sandwiches while they dried off by the fire and I read them bedtime stories and scriptures.

Then saturday, miles spill a HUGE bottle of bubble in the hot tub and park turned on the jets. A happy accident.

it was just funny to realize that between the 2 of us, Craig is the one that keeps things a little more under control.

My biggest fear before I had kids was that i would turn into one of those obsessive, paranoid parents. Even though it went completely against my personality, I didn't know how kids would change me.  It took me until Parker was about a year old before i realized that not only did i not have to worry about this anymore, but I probably should be a little more concerned as a parent....about what they are sticking in their mouths, what they wear -or don't wear out in public, or even just try to care a little more if I see them coloring on the walls. Mostly, I just want them to be happy, and sometimes I let too much go. I'm glad I have craig to balance it out (at least a little....cause he's not exactly the strictest or most concerned parent out there).

Here's to hoping our kids live to adulthood.
