hang two

we met friends in cardiff tonight for a taco on the beach (Bull Taco) and a sunset surf. When it was time for parkers's surf lessons, miles ran right up..."I go first!" So craig and Jason took him out. He was crazy brave, even when he got tossed under a wave. The waves were too big tonight to really put him in, but he had fun anyhow. Craig has been having the boys practice in the pool...he pushes the surf board and tells them to paddle, paddle....jump up! Miles skills paid off (although in the pool he always remembers to point his feet to the side and he was blanking this part under pressure).

my favorite part was his tongue. I don't know if it was the taste of the salt water or pure concentration-or if that's just how 2 year olds surf-but his tongue was out the entire time.

even for a during a fall and a high five.
tonight when i tucked him in bed (at 9:30pm-cause we had to hop in the pool to swim away the sand for awhile before bedtime) i told him how proud I was of him being so brave. He sat straight up and said, "I get a chocolate donut!" ....which must of been the bribe used to keep him out in the water for so long.
