Check your doorstep in 3 days because you may be getting a package from me. I just got a SCALE... a desk scale, but a kitchen scale would work, too. I've been meaning to get one forever so that I could ship packages from home. My "to ship" pile was overflowing and I always dread spending an hour in the post office, while me kids re-organize the greeting cards, just to realize I forgot one item and 2 addresses.
To ship from home, you just need a scale that shows lbs and oz and some boxes. (you can just grab the flat rate ones from any post office if shipping heavy stuff, or use your own). Then you go on USPS.com, type in the shipping info, cc info and weight,and print your label. Tape it on the box and your good to go It even notifies your post man to pick up the package from your doorstep.
Con: you can't ship parcel post from home, which is USPS's cheapest option-usually. But you can see the price difference online and decide if that specific package is worth dropping by the PO.
