We went on a picnic in a preserve in the middle of Rancho Sante Fe this evening, and although it did not look like the above pics :), we had great time. (our menu was 1/2 a leftover roast chicken, half a loaf of french bread, cherry tomatoes & basil from the garden, cucumbers, peppers, cheese, apples and cherry juice.....all grabbed in under 2 minutes while craig loaded the boys in the car-and i even remembered to grab a knife, napkins and salt and pepper.) Not that glamous, but when shoved in our cute picnic basket and served on the plastic set of dishes inside-including plastic champagne flutes- while sitting on a blanket, anything tastes good. We were headed to Rancho Sante Fe to a a shelter to look at puppies...again. one day. one day.
I have had the song
"the first warm Day of May" by Rosemary Clooney in my head all day- only because it was the FIRST day of May. It wasn't even warm today. That's what made me want to do a picnic.
