Best Day Ever

 Parker's favorite day of the week is wednesday because that's when his class has "run club". His teacher told me that running is his thing and that he is really fast. instead of field day, his school has the Fun Run day once a year. All the kids run laps by grade and the classroom with the most laps for their grade wins an icecream party for their class. Parker was pretty excited that the fun run was on his birthday.

Field Day was my favorite day of the year as a kid. I can still remember the feelings of excitement on that day, getting in my "running clothes" for school that day. I got parker new shorts and shoes for his birthday and gave them to him before school on the day of the fun run.

 I loved getting to see my son feel like he was on top of the world- king for a day. All the excitment of Fun Run Day, the birthday crown in class, running the most laps of anyone in his class- 21 in 20 minutes, i went to lunch with him at school, then later brought watermelon slices for his class (just like my mom used to for my birthday), and to top it all off...his had the anticipation of his pirate party right after school. (pics coming) He was SO happy and full of joy the whole day. i just kept thinking, my wish for him is that he can feel even a small piece of that happiness everyday for the rest of his life.
