So Cal Ragnar 2011

The start of the race at Huntington Beach, right before Amy took off

"van 2"-right before we had a huge nap at the Moe's hotel while Van 1 ran for 5 hours

Todd had a great cheering section. Including a 9-months pregnant Ashley. Maybe that is why he was such a champ. Running over 25-miles...the most of anyone.

the ladies...at one of the prettiest exchanges on Lake Elsinore.
the Ladies at the finish line
aka Ron. aka R. Baugh. aka Ronny. aka Ryan. aka our founder, that alas, couldn't make the race
what an exchange looks like at 4am. safety first

Craig said that Jason ran so fast that he couldn't keep up with him for the half a block while he gave him Gatorade. And Matty was a rock star. Joined the team late in the season, but had a great performance. Maybe it's because he would start listening to "we will rock you" (or something on his ipod) an hour before each of his legs.
Slade's sprint to the finish

2 miles into my 8 mile run, but check out that view. the rest of the run was along the harbor by all the boats.

Marilee was the best team mom that ever was. Leaving us all chalk messages along our course. forcing us to drink more fluids cause of the heat, and even running the first part of one of my legs because I was too sick and waiting for my Advil to kick in.

Finishing at the beach on Coronado Island

Davis...our captain...giving out medals and kisses.

another support crew....though I'm pretty sure they just surfed during the 36 hrs between the start and the finish.

Craig definitely exceeding all expectations....running over 17 miles, and always in the 7 min. range. Not bad for someone that has run a total of 6 times in his life. (I can't post any pictures of him running because all his "outfit" choices were too inappropriate for the interwebs).

of note:
-the Ragnar races are all over the country. go to http://www.ragnarrelay.com/ to read more....they are getting quite big. I think there were 6,000 people that were in our race.

-i don't want to forget....
 1) how Amy took a wrong turn on the last 1/4 mile of her leg, running 5 miles of the next leg straight up a LONG hill, after already running 7 miles. all at 1am in the morning while the rest of us panicked trying to find her. except Todd. who just took off on his leg without the wristband, not even a bit worried.

 2) how we couldn't find Todd during his 9 mile! run, in 80 degree weather to give him and drinks or support.

3)how sick i felt for the entire race, especially the first day. My poor team had to listen to me coughing and sneezing, the whole van ride. i felt like they carried me for my last 8.3 mile leg...giving me drinks every 1/2 mile, running with me, and major cheering.

 4) how awesome Craig's first outfit was. probably the first time I smiled on day one.

 5) how nice it felt to stop by our house in the middle of the night for a quick shower and nap in between legs.

when are we doing this again??
