puppet theater

a few months ago i got this old puppet theater at architectural salvage and it has provided hours of entertainment. It came with a basket full of vintage puppets, but I also pick up a new puppet or 2 every time I'm at Ikea. the side doors are normally angled in and it lives in the left corner of this formal front room-turned-play room.  this would be really easy make and could double as a lemonade stand depending on how it was painted.

in the 2nd picture, you can see the coat rack that is in the other corner. (it's super messy in this pic though).this is our coat rack from NY where we used it daily as we had no coat closet and wore coats or scarfs almost daily. here, we have a coat closet and don't wear coats. go figure. i was going to toss the coat rack, but instead, took out the middle piece of pole to make it shorter and hung all of their costumes on it for easy access.
