{i'm dying for bookshelves with a sliding ladder....I already know where I would put it}
Well, recently, I have been working on a project for which I needed 2 doors. (after hearing from a source that was around when these houses were being built, that there may be quite a bit of dead space behind 2 of my walls, I did some solid measuring and decided that most likely there was space. I told craig one morning, he said, "PLEASE don't do anything drastic and put a hole in that wall." which I may or may not be prone to do. I said, "i will try my best." which i did by distracting myself till about 10am when I could NO longer take the suspense and HAD to know. I got a hammer and a flashlight and within 30 seconds had my head inside a hole, about 8x8 " confirming that there was tons of space walled off-- 2 closet sized spaces on either side of my entryway, just inside the front door. They measure 2 ft x 12 ft, with a 3 foot wide pocket at one end.)
So.....I knew I needed some doors for the soon-to-be new closets and I was just going to head to Home Depot to see if they had something that would work...I wanted the doors to be on the smallish size since it's just closets.....when I remember this cool store had TONS of doors. Miles and I headed down there and I found 2 little doors and knobs. (neither are pictured above). the doors are wood (no glass) 24x80" and are 3 panel ( I was going to get 5 panel ones, but the looked a little too busy). and i got old crystal knobs. I also picked up an old puppet theater with vintage puppets that has been put to good use around here.
i'll get some pics of new doors/closets sometime.
