How to throw a surprise birthday party for a 4 year old

1. Tell him the morning of his birthday he is going to have a party after church. He'll be so excited, then forget 5 minutes later.

2. Arrive home from church 5 minutes after everyone else

(I love the look of surprise and joy on his face).
3. Have 4 extra kids in your care....automatic party on wheels
4. Have an amazing mother-in-law and father-in-law that came bearing gifts such as sunday dinner and extra birthday presents for the 2 year old that insisted all day, "NO! It's my Birfday!!"

5. Make the requested "donut cake-with chocolate AND vanilla frosting. and lots of sprinkles."
Right before he blew out his candles he said, "I wish I could flip."

I can't believe Parker is already 4. I tell him everyday I want him to stay my little boy forever. He always responds differently. The other day he said, "sorry, i can't mom cause I get hungry. I have to eat food and food makes you grow."

I asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up and he said, "My dad."
