In one day, we found more than a dozen swings on the beach all within a few miles of the beach house in Laie we rented. We would drive down the beach front "hwy" and stop if we saw one then play at that beach for awhile.
Craig caught my first, crabs and creatures than you can imagine. He and the boys probably spent over 15 hours over the past 2 weeks exploring tide pools with nets and buckets looking for things.
In the tide pools off Laie point with the Lee's, our friends that live there and really took care of us in Oahu- even loaning us their car for the week.
So happy these two had time away from everyone they know to be alone and build their friendship. They got along better than I've ever seen them, spending hours at the beach with just each other all morning collecting things, building things and exploring while craig worked and I exercised and did babies, etc.
I carried those babes from the beach in front of the house to the outdoor shower at least 3 times a day.
Sunset from turtle bay resort. We met the wheelwrights and lee's- who are also friends- for dinner at the turtle bay golf club one night. We ate on the patio and The kids played on the putting green the whole time, aside from when they ate. It was perfect right up until miles walked right up to the dinner table towards the end of dinner with a HUGE toad right next to sister wheelwright. Pretty funny.
My morning jogging team -Laie Temple behind (I rented two high chairs and this jogger for Oahu. Well worth it)
Hammocks are so relaxing
This is the bay where the 2nd Hunger Games was filmed. (Brett has 2 rental shops in town and hooked us up with surf, paddle and boogie boards, snorkel gear, scooters, bikes and about 10 shave ices a day... Really made the trip)
Hawaiin Fruit Feast on our last morning with coconut that Parker picked and craig pored us coconut water from.
The other thing that really made the trip is maddie, our amazing babysitter who I wasn't planning to have come out, but then I panicked after craig worked for a food chunk of the day our last few days in Maui. In Oahu, he was on calls or emails till around 1pm and having maddie there to help with the babes so I could take the boys on adventures and then be able to have an extra set of hands at the beach etc. was a dream. She moved to San Diego from Oahu so she stayed with different friends most nights and was around when we needed her. It made it a vacation for me as well as let craig and I really get to be there for the boys. Because those babies.... Oh boy. They are into trouble right now and require more effort than you can imagine. Good thing I am so in love with them.
Ellie sharing the window with brothers and Winston so happy to be home and finally get to play with his Christmas presents :)
