to keep 12 kids occupied in between going to park for Turkey Bowl and "the Meal", I made my garage into a kiddie craft room. I wish I had a good before and after photo. The mess was unbelievable...signs of fun had. I had paper sacks with the kids names stapled on each one to collect their creations. then I laid out....TONS of paper, turkey print outs, feathers, staplers, hole punches, scissors, glue, tape, crayons, markers, stickers, all the pieces to make woven place mats, goggly eyes, puff balls, pipe cleaners, trim, etc....the crazy thing is I just grabbed it all from my craft room.....i own too much junk :) About an hour and half into it, when Nick had made all he wanted to and was looking bored, I pulled out my last project-pumpkins. you know-all the leftover ones from Halloween and fall decor. Mine and my neighbors. I gave them a cookie sheet, big spoon, and my kid safe carving tools. It was so nice that I didn't even have to think about the mess since it was all out in the garage.
The kids also decorated gourds and acorn squash used fro place cards. And they all helped me cut out the paper tree. (if you don't have a huge roll of brown paper from Home Depot, go get one for $7. it will change your life).

so much for not swimming right after you eat. I'm pretty sure some of them ate pie while in the hot tub.
almost everyone went to the movies Thanksgiving evening. I stayed home to finish off Ann's pecan pie and get out Christmas boxes, while Miles, so wiped out, feel asleep at 6pm, drooling on my couch. I lit all the kiddo's pumpkins so when they dropped off Parker they could see their creations. I of course loved having the party here and let's just say I slept like a baby that night.
