staycation-life on the home front

Labor Day weekend we didn't have any travel plans or any visitors. Shocking on both fronts. We decided to make the most of the beautiful place we live. Friday night we met up with friends at San Onofre state beach for a surf and foil dinners in the firepit.

Saturday, after some garage cleaning and little swim party, we headed downtown. Our friends apt building overlooks the padres stadium which made for a fun BarBQ setting.

Around the 4th inning we headed down to the field-we had "Park in the park" $5 tickets.

monday, (after a much needed visit to Wal-mart) we went to the old poway train park then I went to Brittany's house and we made a year supply of pesto. We both had SO much basil in our gardens so we cut it all back and came out of it with a serious amount of pesto.

miles, craig and I got to go and meet the new and beautiful Ms. California. So so sweet. And if you ever need a hospital visitor, I know a certain mr. miles who is pretty cute company.

it rained all of monday afternoon, but then it stopped in the evening and the sky was left with a glow that made a beautiful sunset. Brittany came over and made butternut pesto pasto with our fresh pesto, we cooked hotdogs and swam-right up until i realized how late it was and that I now have a child in school. I really love hanging out with my family.
