No matter how much my dad plays with, babysits, or works in the garden with the boys, they still call the house grandma's house. Here's a few of the highlights from our trip home last weekend....
-visiting the children's Museum. in the arts and crafts room they had this paper mache castle for the kids to paint. it was installed a year ago and since then, every single day, it gets repainted by kids. When we walked in, they said to the boys, "we need help painting our castle blue today. will you help us?" (it had already been worked over, but you could see bits of purple from the day before). They said it had over 300 layers of paint on it.
-having a cousins Halloween party. the best part was watching the kids play in her costumes for the first hour, deciding what to be. she probably has over 50.
-going to Horizon High Schools concert choir performance with Mikey.....it was so good. I couldn't believe the dancing and costumes. I felt like i was at Glee Live.
-Hours in the yard and garden
-Parker's highlight was the cap guns that mikey bought him. when we arrived home and craig was carrying him from the car to bed, he woke up just for long enough to tell him about the guns and about how grandpa showed him "how to take out the red skinny paper from the guns and hit it on the cement with a hammer for a big, huge noise". a lot of that has been happening at my house. Miles is getting surprisingly good at using a hammer.
