Family Photo Shoot-fall 2010

some background....when we were moving in our house in June, our friend Matty's lease was ending. We told him we would love it if he moved in with us-he's stayed with us before and we love having him around- so he did. Then in August, Kati-my friend Chelsea's younger sister- was trying to figure out her housing situation for the school year-she goes to SDSU-since her apartment plans had fallen through. I told her to come stay with us for as long as she needed while she figured it out--and she did. I hope she stays forever. We went from 4 to 6 just like that.

While some people may find our current situation a little funny or odd, I absolutely love it. I think it is in part due to the fact that both matty and kati are easy going, happy people that are super easy to live with. And they love my kids (and don't complain when the boys are running through the house squealing, at 7am EVERY DAY).

A few weeks ago, when we happened to have everyone around at the same time for family dinner, I said i had 2 items of family business. #1-I wanted to have a family photo to capture this moment in our life and #2- I informed them that the snake was once again on the loose, so be aware.

(from the photos above you can see that the snake reappeared in time for "family" photos.)

a few things i want to remember about this moment in time.......
-parker taking guittar lessons from matty
-FHE with everyone participating
-Kati spinning the kids FORever in the swing
-Parker running back to Matty's room to show him something exciting
-hearing matty singing at the top of his lungs while playing on his guittar when he thought the house was empty
-having a family council to rename tigger the snake (his new name is "the horse that Charlie" is case you wondered)
-having campfires in our dirt backyard in the midst of the weeds and begging matty not to stop playing his guittar for us
-having someone in the house, besides me, that likes to eat healthy and who will actually eat salad at dinner time (matt)
-missionary dinners out back in the same awful yard
-Miles asking me 5 times a day, "wear tay dee go?" (where'd Kati go?) school miles. the answer is still school.....he loves her SOOO much
-how unbelievably amazing it is to have a 20 yr old girl living with you when you have small children. seriously, so amazing

good times guys. good times.
