On Monday, we lost Tigger the snake, on loan for the weekend from Parker's preschool. They have a bunch of animals that you can take care of for the weekend and so far we are 2 for 3...not bad odds if you ask me. We had a few scares with the turtles-they are way faster than you think and found tons of places to hide in the yard while getting there daily sun, the parakeets had to be caught by craig a few times when P would let them fly around the house, and we did great with the snake right up until I left the lid off his tank (who would have thought he could climb a glass wall) and he escaped. 5 days later, I'm still petrified every time I put on a shoe that he is going to be in there and bite my toes. Hopefully he escaped to the wild outdoors and is not in my house. I debated if I should just buy a replacement and not say anything, or if I should fess up first. Yesterday, I had to go to the principles office and apologize. scary/sad. we're getting a new tigger tomorrow.

On Monday, we also got to go to Mitt's book signing in La Jolla. (It's a great book, if you haven't read it yet). Craig and Dave looked like some pretty intimidating security, Parker was an angel (crazy what a few years does for a child's behavior) and I had vivid flashbacks of what it is like to have a 18 months old at a Romney event as I bribed my special needs monkey with sugary treats to keep him under control. Don't let his smile fool you in this picture. Though he has a perma smile planted on his face at all times (and currently some white-out that parker painting on his face 5! days ago that will not come off-notice his eye in the picture), Miles is pure crazy.
