I have missed a lot of our lives on this blog over the
summer. While I have been mostly keeping
up on instagram, it’s not the same. I am still convinced that my blog is the
best form of photo journal for me. So
bear with me over the next few weeks as I (hopefully) catch up on some of the
notable events from the past 3-4 months.
Here’s a bit of what I hope to cover…
-the rest of craig’s trip to india (the school for the
children of lepars that he got to stay at and volunteer at was amazing..and the
taj mahal, etc.)
-craig’s trip to Hong Kong with Matt and with his uncle rod
as tour guide
- the rest of our trip to New York
-our trip to Phx for Michael’s mission farewell
-the rest of the OLYMPICS!!
-our end of summer beach bash at the beach house last Friday
-some of craig’s pics from Puerto Rico to weeks ago (he
stayed at the guest house of the governors villa there. The villa is over 500
(!) years old and was built by the Spaniards.)- he also went to Florida (where
I’m considering moving) twice over in the past week and a half and we are
currently ALL in FL.
- and maybe even a few pics of our day to day life during
the 5 days we were all at home this summer J
For now, here’s what the first day of first grade looked
like. (miles starts his 3 day a week preschool in 2-weeks).
Convention update #1: We landed in tampa at 6pm tonight (sat) and headed to the hotel. Matt and laurie and kiddos were on our same flight which made it that much more fun for our kids. We are staying at a marriott over looking the bay about 1/2 a mile from the convention center and the security is unreal. To even get near the convention center area you pass through a ton of road blocks with national guard, police and secret service everywhere. You can't even drive to the hotel. The cars parked across a bridge and we had to take these secure golf carts across the river (full of marine patrol) to the hotel. Such an adventure for the boys.
Tonight was like the 'calm before the crazy'. craig didn't have any events tonight so we just got to swim at the pool with all the cousins, have dinner as a family and snuggle in bed to try to get the kids to bed 2 hours before their normal bedtime.
I'm guessing tonight will be our last night like this so I soaked in the family time. Craig just looked at "our" (really his) schedule and said...I have an event to 2am this night and press at 8am the next morning. oh, but the experiences we get to have and the people we get to meet! here's to a fun week...
