grilled cheese and cupcakes

these pics are from dinner on April Fool's Day. Laurie came up with a great menu and I helped her make this meal for the kiddos.

-Cupcakes- Meatloaf with dyed mashed potatoes on top
-Grilled Cheese-toasted slices of pound cake with orange frosting in the middle.

Because Parker is still just a 3 year old, I told him before dinner that it was going to be a trick. I told him that it was meatloaf cakes (which he loves) and not a cupcake. Still, he was greatly disappointed. And he wouldn't try the dessert because he doesn't like grilled cheese.

The joke worked over and over again on miles. Everytime he wandered through the kitchen he would beg for another cupcake, just to take a bite and spit it out.
