yep. here's a long list. i have GOT to finish this series. i don't want to be one of those people that start a series that never has a part 2. (davis).

50. the first huge snowstorm (for a day it's fun)
49. street performers
48. burger joint
47. cutler salon
46. American museum of natural history
45. the fountains on the plaza at the AMNH

44. the children's museum on 83rd. especially the Dora the explorer floor
43. the met
42. frying pan
41. buying fabric and trim in the fashion district
40. concrete barbq's in our "backyard" space

39. my few piano students
38. the musical talent in the ward- when you have people in your ward that are composers or sing for the metropolitan opera, every Sunday is a little concert
37. walking down 5th ave. i know that lindt chocolates will gives out a free sample every time you go in. i know what floor the engagement rings are on in Tiffany's for my viewing pleasure. i know exactly where the women's sale section is in the biggest banana republic in the world. and i know the best place to watch the ice skaters in Rockefeller center while i feed my kiddos.
every time someone has asked me, "isn't it hard to live in NY with little kids?", my response has always been, "i would rather be pushing my stroller down 5th ave. then center street in provo."
36. seeing craig pull up somewhere on his scooter. he just looks so hot.

35. riding my bike in central park
34. having no unwasted space in my apt. or really in the whole city
33.crepes on columbus-especially their quiche Loraine
32. going apple and raspberry picking with marilee and andrea or nichole north of the city. it always felt so good to get out of the city and be on a farm. i loved coming home and making raspberry jam.
31. Lincoln center. though we didn't go enough to the symphony and ballet (and never to the opera), i liked knowing it was just down the street and having the option to go.
30. clairmont stables. before it recently was shut down to build condos (boooo), it was the last horse stable left in Manhattan, the oldest continuously running barn. it was right down the block from our first apt on 89th st. i took dressage lessons there and when ann was in town, we would rent horses and ride all through the bridal trails in central park. riding through the park on a crisp, fall day was heaven.
29. doing anything in the city on a crisp, but sunny, fall day
28. Isabella's
27. having Jemimah sew for me. she is an amazing seamstress. i loved designing a dress, picking out the the fabric, then having her create what was in my head.
26. my history in the city. it's where i fell in love with craig. our first kiss was on 74th st. it's where i fell in love with both my boys when they were born at lenox hill on 78th st. the city is so small that every corner became a memory.
27. constant opportunities. because there was so much going on in the city, we had opportunities drop in our laps all the time. some of the things we attended for free because people would call us to say they had extra tickets include: US open (tennis), the PGA US Open (this year we saw tiger woods), NY philharmonic, ballet, yankee, mets, knicks and nets games, concerts, etc.
26. the perfect backdrop for pictures that the city provides
25. people everywhere. at first made me crazy, then turned into some sort of security blanket. i felt comfortable running down broadway at 10pm on a friday night in the summer because there were thousands of people out and about.
24. greenwich village. i know i already named the meat packing district, soho and maybe noho, and they all kinda run into each other, but i just really like it down there.
23. the old firehouse on 22nd bet. 8th and 9th. gordon's old apt where craig lived for a summer. one of the coolest apts i saw in the city and we loved walking by even when we didn't know the owner just for the memories.
22. going to the theaters in time square every time we see a movie.
21. street fairs and flea markets that you happen upon
20. ben and toby (and chase). parker's first "real" friends (his first friends where he was old enough to really interact and talk about who he wanted to play with). they were also his first friends that were as wild as he was so i never had to worry about him getting too crazy for them. they really toughen him up.

19. shake shack. both locations. i loved them for their shakes, the shack burger, and for all the good times we spent there with our friends.
18. patsy's on 74th. the best penne a la vodka in NY. maybe the world.
17. not having a car. we had one for awhile, then we didn't. i liked it better when we didn't have one (though it took my awhile to reach this conclusion). mostly, i liked the fact that we didn't need a car.
16. Macy's on 34th. it's just so big.
15. looking at the statue of liberty from battery park. any closer takes too much effort and takes some of the excitement out of it (though i want to go to the top now that they are letting people up again).
14. the row boats on the Lake in central park
13. the first really warm day of spring
12. lyla :(
11. beach days at long beach in long island. I know that we now live at the beach (currently, literally), but i will never forget our beach outings. there is something about piling in a van and driving an hour out of the city, to spend the day at the beach with friends you love. you just appreciate the beach that much more when you are coming from a winter spent cramped in your apt.

wow. that was really long. i hope that you didn't read all of that.

since the lake, we packed up our life and flew to san diego. craig is still driving across the country with his buddy matt and they are having way too much fun. i think they are going to turn a 4 day drive into 2 weeks. here is a blog they started about their trip (that was the first sign they were loving their journey).
